ModeMuze

(2017)

Visualisation for the database of ModeMuze. This database has a lot of information and pictures of the fashion collection of multiple dutch museums.

Together with Tycho Kilsdonk and Oscar van Leest I made this visualisation. To explore the database you can interact with an Ipad. When you zoom in to the visualisation you learn more about the database.

Wifibles

(2017)

Wifibles are wearable routers that will host online content. During the TodaysArt festival, a number of pieces are hosted on these devices. When you’re in range of one of the Wifibles’s Wi-Fi signals, you will be able to connect to the network and a piece of video will be shown through the browser.

Wifibles plays with the idea of a wifi-hotspot as a way to distribute art, and with the concept of ‘free Wi-Fi’. Wifibles is a collaberation between Ibo Ibelings (code, design, production), Jelle Reith (code, design, production) and Hanneke Klaver (Wifibles production). The content hosted on some Wifibles is “harvested” by Peter Zuiderwijk from Collective Works for www.todays.art, others contain material by the artists Rebekka Fries and Aram Bartholl.

Livestream The Past

(2016)

Livestream The Past is a speculative Design for a high-tech camers module capable of storing twenty years of video data. A stereoscopic camera works together with a 3D display to show a live-steram with a delay of twenty years. The camera module is connected to a small datacenter which stores all the data. Once twenty years have passed the data will be written over the old data. This device give the user an opportunity to look into the past and compare the 'now' with the 'then'

Jelle Reith and I worked togeter in designing seven blueprints which could be used to build this installation. We made the blueprints in a very rich detail to cover everything from the camera module to the datacenter. I worked mostly on making a design for the camera module and comming up with an overall idea on how this installation could work. The data center holds eight servers capable of storing 5400 terabytes of data each, summing up to a grand total of 43,200 terabytes of memory. This is needed to store the twenty years of 4k video data.

Hooke Park

(2017)

Light installation made on the Architects association workshop in Hooke Park. For this workshop we build a light installation with a group of Interaction Desginers and Architects.

My part for this installtion was mainly focussed on building the code behind the installation and creating a sort of living enity for the crowd to interact with.

Pathfinding Game

(2016)

An installtion/game made together with Arhur Duindam and Gabriëlle Gijsbers
In this game-like way we wanted to visualise how the internet automatically re-routes when a blockade appears. There are a lot of blockades in the world and the Internet is made to find an alternative shortest way, but most often we don't notice it when this happens. With this game, we want to make clear that these things happen and how it works.

Voice Synthese

(2017)

With the voice of Stephen Hawking in mind I made this project. I wrote a program so I could synthesize person their voice. It is a way to make persons annonymous in a crowd of other voices.
