Alleen Samen

Concept:

Alleen Samen (Only Together) is a collaborative game developed for the Toekomstmakers! exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut, designed for and with children. Players place game pieces on a shared table to answer questions together about climate and the future. The game only progresses when everyone participates — cooperation is built into the mechanic.

My contribution:

I built the software and hardware for the installation. Each game piece hides an NFC tag; a Raspberry Pi reads the tags through a grid of NFC readers embedded in the table surface and drives the game logic, which runs as a web app in the background. For the same exhibition, I built a set of information screens — visitors scan their personal more-than-human character card to load content onto the screen.
